Kim and Ned are two very ordinary people but they are the most unlikely pair of friends that one could meet. Nevertheless there is a bond between them. She is Chinese in her 20’s and a qualified and practising lawyer, He is in his 50’s and owner of a moderately successful business consultancy. After one of their lunch dates Ned accidentally takes a wrong bag from the restaurant which he later discovers, contains a large amount of money. Before they can decide what to do, the owner of the bag pays them a visit and threatens them. A visit from the police convinces them that simply handing in the money would point to their complicity in its theft. Fearing for their safety and even their lives, they decide to flee to buy some time. They head for the beautiful and idyllic Lake District unaware that there are desperate groups of people determined to find them for their own personal reasons and will stop at nothing to get what they want, with disasterous and fatal results

About the Author

Mike Holden was born in the Lancashire town of Bury and grew up in the north-west of England. He developed a long-lasting love for the beauty of the Lake District from an early age and recently has returned there on a number of occasions to climb the fells. He spent most of his working life in the travel and transport industries and spent his early career in the city centre of Manchester. Asfter living in various parts of the country including Kent and the beautiful Gower Peninsula in South Wales. he is now semi-retired and lives on the North Essex coast. Hope Never Dies is Mike's first novel
